You have started your vampire journey, and the new phase of your life has begun. But how will you move forward without knowing your past?

A Growing Hunger

In a time not too distant from the present, the vampire community lived among human society, hiding in the shadows as we continue to this day.

The immortal vampires of the modern day can live with greater levels of freedom than those of days gone. We enjoy all the conveniences that technology, such as smartphones and computers, brings. We were able to adapt to the sun, although we certainly don't enjoy it. Mere mortals saw us, vampires, as just ordinary people, as we perfectly blended into modern society.

But the life of a vampire does not come without its unique struggles. Primarily our source of food and livestock, the humans. We must drink the blood of humans to survive; there is no other way. Yet, the golden era of hunting and feeding on humans as we please is over. Today, we must live in harmony. Initially, this led to the once-great vampires scrambling for food.

However, we vampires are nothing if not resourceful. Looking for a solution, we created something that changed the lives of vampires forever.

Humanoids

We researched a taboo scientific theory that had been forbidden for centuries to invent a new source of nourishment. That research gave birth to humanoids. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

We bequeathed the name 'Etherial Symbiotic Automaton' (or 'ESA' for short) upon them. They were sold to fellow vampires for high prices. Of course, their existence is a secret. Something humans will never know. Revolutionizing our diets, ESAs provided their vampire companion fresh human blood without dealing with the feeble mortals. Yet, things did not initially go as planned.

After spending a small fortune acquiring their ESA, we vampires immediately sucked the blood out of their ESA ravenously. For a while, we were satisfied with what the ESA could provide. However, over time our ESA became unreceptive to our ClawKiss.

Upon further research, a great vampire discovered more about the ESA, with whom the vampires grew increasingly disenchanted.

"Your ESA is far more complex than you think. Create a bond with your ESA by using your Charm. This ancient spell, used by our forefathers, will be a source of nourishment to your ESA, and in return, you will once again be able to ClawKiss your ESA."

ESA live on the Euphoria that Charm and ClawKiss from a vampire bring, while Vampires thrive on the blood of their ESA. A true bond. A relationship based on giving and taking. A truly symbiotic relationship. That is what ESA and Vampires share.

Charming your ESA became an essential part of vampire existence. The vampire community has even come together to charm each other's ESA. Before long, it became good etiquette to share your ESA's blood with those who charmed them.

Gourmets even exist in the vampire community. Different ESAs have different variants of blood with other properties. Vampires with a discerning taste often care for multiple ESA to excite the pallet with mouthwatering blood.

And now you have heard our tale. The vampire community's journey has been long, filled with hardship that we have been able to adapt to. But together, with our faithful and loyal companions ESA, we not only survive but continue to thrive.
